As the UAE prepares to celebrate the Flag Day on November 3, the authorities have put in place precautionary measures that will have to be adhered to by public and private entities.
A Covid-19 negative result, disinfection of areas of the activity and limiting the number of attendees to 20 people are some of the measures to be followed on Flag Day when there will be flag hoisting around the country.
The Flag Day is celebrated every year to consolidate national identity and enhance the notion of unity. The UAE Flag Day was first launched in 2013 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
In a circular issued by the UAE Government Media Office, authorities said federal and other local entities, including those from the private sector, will raise the flag simultaneously in front of their headquarters at 11am on Tuesday, November 3.
According to the circular, the precautionary measures are being taken due to the exceptional circumstances associated with Covid-19 pandemic.
Here are the guidelines that entities have to follow on UAE Flag Day.
*All areas where the activity is taking place must be disinfected.
*The number of attendees must not exceed 20 people.
*All attendees must present a valid 96 hours Covid-19 negative result.
*Students are not allowed to physically attend the activities.
*Souvenirs of flags will not be distributed.
*No activities will be conducted to accompany the flag-raising ceremony.
*Social distancing (minimum of 2 meters) must be maintained throughout the flag-raising ceremony.
*Only one person is allowed to raise the flag.
*Attendees must wear face masks throughout the activity.
*Temperature checks is needed for all attendees is mandatory prior to the event.
